Literopad

Literopad [ літеропад ]— a play on "litera" (letter) and "lystopad" (November, literally "leaf fall") — is an annual challenge curated by type designers Andriy Shevchenko and Marcela Mozhyn. Each day, participants interpret one letter of the Ukrainian Cyrillic alphabet based on historical sources — book covers, magazines, printed materials from past Ukrainian masters. Beyond practicing letterform construction, this project offered a way to explore how typography carries cultural identity and historical memory, while connecting with a community engaged in the same inquiry.
